Media supply systems for permeate and concentrate

Ring-main systems for supply of dialysis machines with permeate and concentrate affects the quality of the dialysis treatment and must be carefully planned and executed regarding the chemical and microbiological requirements.

For laying of the permeate ring-main the following criteria must be considered:

• Pressure, temperature and aging resistant
• Corrosion resistance
• Smooth surface
• Flexible laying technology
• Low pipe friction loss
• Low thermal conductivity
• Heat-disinfectable
• Aseptic connection technology

One of the essential aspects is to avoid a biofilm.

Relevant criteria for preventing a biofilm is the hydraulic design (smooth surface, elbows without fittings, etc.), the selection of pipe material and optimal pressure and flow conditions as well as connections to the media supply system.
