Cycling for a good climate:
Campaign mastered! From June 26 to July 16, 13 colleagues left their cars at home and cycled an impressive 2,639 km.
That is approximately the distance from DWA, Ubstadt-Weiher to Morocco to our long-term partner Hemotech in Casablanca. Amazing!
We are happy to participate in the annual campaign and thank the initiators.
Even after the end of the “Stadtradeln” we stay on bike.

We receive hundreds of inquiries from all over the world about our water treatment systems, which are urgently needed for the treatment of corona patients with severe courses of disease.
Many customers ask us to deliver as quickly as possible, and every day we receive new orders as well as order increases, or emergency equipment is needed overnight.
The production and delivery of the single-user reverse osmosis systems have the highest priority. Capacities of almost all business units have been ramped up. Even our external warehouses are empty. Every available part has been installed at the site by means of retrieval actions. Overtime, weekend activities and the virus itself have not gone unnoticed by us either. However, cross-departmental and cross-company support, good teamwork, mutual understanding and encouragement will carry us through this phase. After the pandemic, we will find a creative way to thank all those involved.
Today, we would like to thank our suppliers again in advance, some of whom are doing the almost impossible, so that things can continue at DWA. We would also like to thank our forwarding agents and the many truck drivers who bring goods every hour or collect deliveries for our end customers.
It is our daily endeavour to keep promised delivery dates, to shorten them at best and to avoid bottlenecks. We are optimistic that with the help of our suppliers and our team we will be able to further reduce delivery times. You can be sure that we all do our best, because we are aware of our responsibility.

35 years of medical technology from Ubstadt-Weiher
A company anniversary is always an occasion for joy, an opportunity to take a look into the past, to reflect the present and to look into the future with visions.
Ultrapure water is a fundamental element for dialysis, i.e. artificial blood washing, in patients with severe kidney disease. A highly complex technology is required to obtain truly pure water as dialysis water (permeate) and transport it to the dialysis machine. This technology has been further developed by DWA in Ubstadt-Weiher for 35 years and implemented in modern water treatment systems.
At the beginning of our company history, Mr. Karl Walther had the idea to develop his own business in the field of dialysis water treatment. His vision was preceded by almost 20 years of personal experience as a nurse, as head of a dialysis station, as a service technician in medical technology and as a salesman for a well-known filter manufacturer in the USA. With this bundled experience, the company was founded on February 22, 1984 by Karl Walther with six employees and successfully expanded nationally and internationally until 1995.
Since 2009 DWA belongs to the Belgian Pollet Water Group. In addition to solutions for the home, industry and gastronomy, water treatment for medical applications, including dialysis, is one of the main business areas of the group. Founded in 1992, the group today comprises more than 30 companies in the field of water technology in eleven countries worldwide.
As an independent company, DWA currently employs 60 people, three of them almost from the very beginning. All together we are almost 1,000 years old in experience and are still aware of our responsibility as specialists in the field of ultrapure water supply for dialysis. Since 2005, we have firmly implemented dual training in the company to promote young talent.
Constant growth at home and abroad as well as ever more extensive customer projects made it necessary to move to the Großer Sand industrial estate in Ubstadt-Weiher in a larger company building at the end of 2015.
Development, design, production, commissioning, service and maintenance all come from a single source. As a full-service provider, we are ideally positioned for all issues relating to water treatment for dialysis. DWA is a strong partner not only in many centres in the surrounding area such as Bruchsal, Speyer, Schwetzingen, Hockenheim (...), but also in countries such as China, Saudi Arabia, Canada, Kenya, Australia and throughout Europe.
Managing Director Bernd Gegenhuber and his team look to the future with confidence. With the balance of the past year, a more than satisfactory result was once again achieved. DWA will present some novelties on the market in the next months. Among other things, the digital hospital will be considered, but more about this is not yet revealed.
The 35th anniversary will be celebrated with the staff on a small scale and the value of an anniversary celebration will be donated to two social projects in our community.
High attendance at the booth of DWA during the Arab Health in Dubai
A delegation of high-ranking politicians from the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg visited the stand of DWA on the occasion of Arab Health.
Among the guests were also the German Consul in Dubai, Günter Rauer, the State Secretary Katrin Schütz and the Managing Director of Baden-Württemberg International Kai Schmidt-Eisenlohr.
DWA took part in Arab Health in Dubai for the third time, as business in the Middle East is becoming increasingly important.
