Due to its surface quality and basic weld control PVDF  (polyvinylidene fluoride) is increasingly considered as an option for orbital welded stainless steel pipework.

Despite the excellent material properties the use of PVDF for permeate ring main for dialysis – in particular for centers with many sampling points – must be carefully inspected.

The need of many fittings and welds causes higher material and installation costs. Complex installations includes a higher risk by leakage due to many necessary fittings.
