Media supply systems for permeate and concentrate

Ring main systems for the supply of dialysis machines with permeate and concentrate affect the quality of the dialysis treatment and have to be carefully planned and executed considering the chemical and microbiological requirements. 

For the installation of the permeate ring main the following criteria must be considered: 

• Pressure, temperature and ageing resistance 
• Corrosion resistance 
• Smooth surface 
• Flexible laying technology 
• Low pipe friction loss 
• Low thermal conductivity 
• Heat-disinfectable 
• Aseptic connection technology 

Avoiding a biofilm is essential. Relevant criteria for preventing a biofilm is the hydraulic design (smooth surface, elbows without fittings, etc.), the selection of pipe material and optimal pressure and flow conditions as well as connections to the media supply system.
